The Brooklyn Bridge Run Tour
Tuesdays & Thursdays at 7:00AM and Saturdays at 8:00AM
Run Tour Summary
If you like breathtaking skylines, this tour is for you. We begin the tour by running across history, a 135 year old Neo-Gothic style bridge, originally known as the East River Bridge. At the time, the Brooklyn Bridge was the longest steel cable suspension bridges ever built and its impact on New York and Brooklyn was greater than any other bridge in any other city in the world. You'll learn about the bridge's specs along with the incredible story behind the bridge's designer.
We'll then explore the picturesque streets of Brooklyn Heights which is one of the most affluent neighborhoods in all of New York City that dates back to the early 19th century. You’ll see classic brownstones, townhouses and stable houses. We'll run through NYC's newest parks, Brooklyn Bridge Park which includes winding walking paths, recreational piers with park benches overlooking the harbor and the East River. We'll end in the trendy, historic commercial area called DUMBO which stands for Down Under The Manhattan Bridge Overpass. You are sure to fall in love with Brooklyn and this unforgettable running course. Receive a FINISHER MEDAL upon completion of the run tour.
The course covers a distance of approximately 4.5 miles (7.24k) and it takes approximately 90 minutes to complete. We'll run on a combination of city sidewalks and running paths. We stop periodically to discuss notable historic and contemporary sights. Expect a small group that can range from 2 runners up to 12, so that no one is left behind and all can hear the guide. This is a sightseeing tour for runners, not a race.
We will meet in City Hall Park in Manhattan by the entrance of the 4,5,6 City Hall subway stop located on Centre St. We’ll end in Brooklyn at the High Street A/C train. Your guide will be wearing a branded On Course Run Tours t-shirt or jacket. For more travel info go to the MTA Planner if traveling by subway
